Despite being just 40 minutes (by air) away from Agra, I never got a chance to visit the city famous for hosting one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

I have always loved the Taj Mahal for its beauty and elegance (but what influences me even more than that is the whole story behind its existence!). Brad (my sweet honey) knew about this but I had never expected that he would come up with such a great surprise for me!

It was the 20th of February (that’s my anniversary!). Brad woke me up at 3 in the morning (I was literally fuming!) and told me to get ready. I was really annoyed, but then he convinced me by saying that one of his close friends is not doing well and we need to see him.

I had to give up and get ready, but I was so sleepy that right after getting in the car I dozed off! It was only around 9 in the morning that I got up (when he irritated me again..lol). He just closed my eyes, held my hand and walked me to a place. To my surprise when he opened my eyes, I could see Taj Mahal!

I was so thrilled and excited (for a moment I thought that maybe I was day dreaming!). I kissed him on his cheek and just held his hand to rush towards the place. It was so beautiful! The stream of water running along it, and the greenery everything added to its beauty.

The view of the Yamuna river from the top was also very thrilling. The sweet breeze that was caressing our cheeks added further to the whole excitement. I was simply so happy to be there.

When we came out, we had some road side food (and trust me it was so yummy!) and then we headed back. But while returning I simply could not stop smiling. This was no doubt the best anniversary gift I could have!
