Experience the Intrigue of an Uncommon Hotel

Category : Travel

So you have decided to take a vacation and are searching for a place to stay. Instead of your typical, run-of-the-mill hotel, why not try something a little out of the ordinary. There are many hotels all around the world that offer something a bit different and unusual making your stay alone part of an exciting trip.

Ice hotels are the newest form of accommodations. These hotels are located in countries like Sweden, Canada, Romania, Finland and Norway. The hotels are completely made out of ice—the lobby, rooms, beds, fixtures, etc. Many have beautiful ice sculptures displayed throughout the hotel. Of course, you can only stay at these hotels during the winter months for obvious reasons. Nonetheless, it is certainly an experience that you won’t soon forget.

If cold is not your thing, capsule hotels are quickly becoming the latest trend. These were made popular in Japan, but are quickly spreading to other countries like China and Poland. The capsules are only big enough for one person.

Some of them offer small televisions inside with wireless Internet connections. Bathrooms are shared by the guests and luggage is placed in lockers. Some countries are starting to develop similar types of hotels, but with larger capsules and more features.

For nature buffs, there are now treetop hotels. It is exactly what it sounds like—a hotel built into the tops of trees. These hotels are located everywhere. Some of them, like the Tree Tops Jungle Lodge in Sri Lanka, are more rustic while others, like the Tsala Treetop Lodge in South Africa offers more luxurious accommodations like a fireplace, private balcony and an infinity pool. It is also made out of stone and glass. Other treetop hotels are found in Massachusetts, China, Australia, Washington and Fiji.

If heights scare you, you can always stay at an underwater hotel like the Jules Undersea Lodge in Florida equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable overnight stay. Natural cave hotels are also gaining in popularity.

Guests can stay within the natural stone walls of a real cave. Some have high ceilings and offer guests the chance to experience a part of history. The Gamirasu cave hotel in Turkey is said to have been inhabited for five thousand years.

Whether it’s trees, caves or ice, there is a wide selection of offbeat hotels just waiting for your visit. Why stay somewhere traditional when you can experience the unusual.

An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
